Over summer, at the Astrophysics Department Array Lab of National Taiwan University (NTU), I conducted research on gravitational lensing. Using image data taken from the Hubble Space Telescope and the Pixelens software, I analyzed the strong lensing effects of massive galaxy cluster Abell 1689 to determine its inner mass distribution. Then, I derived a core model with a single isothermal sphere which matched well with the predicted distribution. I concluded the journey at NTU with a research report and sense of fulfillment.
I would like to provide the internet link to the research report I wrote this summer at National Taiwan University (NTU) titled “INNER MASS DETERMINATION OF A MASSIVE GALAXY CLUSTER ABELL 1689.”
